Here is what you can cook with Philips Air Fryer!

I loveee deep fried food (who doesn't??) but I know that I have to have some control over it since it is one of the biggest culprits that expands my waistline. I mean who can resist those fried chicken, french fries, fried popiah or even tempuras right??

Ever since I had my own kitchen, I am proud to say that I managed to stay away from frying my food. The biggest reason is because I hate to handle the oil. One is because I need a lot of oil and when I am done I have to think of how to dispose of them properly.

It's a bonus when it helps me control my fried food intake too!

Well once in a while I still succumb to frying some crispy chicken or some french fries, so I am delighted when I discovered the existence of this genius machine!

Philips Viva Collection Air Fryer HD920

How awesome it is when I can still enjoy crispy succulent fried chicken with less fat and oil? Bye bye guilty!

Basically, Philips air fryer uses a unique combination of fast circulating hot air and a grill element to cook food (Rapid Air technology). Even without the oil, the food cooks up evenly and just as tasty. Plus, since it uses air, that means less vapour and smell to deal with!

Ok, so besides being a healthy option, I also love the fact that it is convenient! With a built in timer, all I need to do is to put in my food inside and leave it until its cooked. Meanwhile I can do some other things and that saves a lot of my cooking time! I do multitask in the kitchen, especially when I cook during weekday dinners.

As for the temperature and cooking time, there are some recommendations for each kind food. Most of the time I just stick to that and make some adjustments as necessary and the food turned out pretty good.

I thought I'd share what I cooked for the first time with this air fryer, so here goes:

Air Fryer Fried Cajun Chicken

Ingredients:
Chicken (cut into smaller parts)
Cajun seasoning
Some oyster sauce (if you prefer)
Salt
Pepper
 A dash of olive oil

Method:
 1) Toss in all of the ingredients to the chicken and marinate for at least half and hour
2) Cook in the air fryer at 180 degree Celsius, for around 20 minutes (it depends on how much chicken you use)
3) Serve with dip or eat them just like that!

Right out of the fryer

We had it with stir fried noodles :)

The verdict : The chicken was so crispy on the outside and juicy in the inside, as if I have deep fried it! It makes a good appetizer or side for noodles or rice. Yum!

It needs a little experiment though, as to how different kind of foods end up compared to deep frying. I have not tried frying potatoes yet, but I came to know that it makes delicious home made french fries.

However, I would say that some traditional deep fried kueh like currypuffs, popiah or cucur badak are better cooked deep fried with oil. But, if you have your own air fryer and want to experiment with it, i'd say give it a go :) And don't forget to let me know how it turned out too!

Do you have an air fryer already? What did you cook with it? Mind to share some recipes too? ;)

Hane, I replied to you via Tweet. Anyway, Air Fryer philips ni mostly available at any dept store. Selalu I nampak je ada jual. Harga dalam 1K kot.

Miss N, sounds similar to Philips. I rasa kalau letak minyak skit memang lagi garing hehe. Philips pun ada recipe book, tapi tak cuba la pulak heheh..
