Recipe: Simple Beef Keema with Lebanese bread

I am a spice lover.

Being Asian, and particularly Malaysian, spices has become an essential part of my palate. I admit that I cannot go more than a couple of days without having any spicy meal. Every other day, I need to have my sambal or curry.

A simplified spicy dish like this will do too. I call it simplified because I only used whatever that I can find in my pantry at that time, and it was ready in a short time.

After I was done with the meal, I realized that it was an inspiration from 2 recipes that I have posted before. Back then I posted a recipe for beef keema (minced beef) and a recipe of an Indian dish, stuffed aubergine with lamb.

When I was cooking this dish, I made use of the same ingredients and method from both recipes, and then tadaaa..

OK so here goes the recipe for you:

simple beef keema

Minced beef
Olive oil / any cooking oil
Sliced shallots
Sliced garlic
Sliced ginger
Sliced capsicum
1tsp cumin powder
1tsp coriander powder
1tsp chicken curry powder
1tsp turmeric powder
Some greek yoghurt
Salt and pepper
Coriander leaves

1) Saute shallots, garlic and ginger until fragrant
2) Add minced beef and let it cook
3) Add in capsicum
3) Add in turmeric, chicken curry, cumin and coriander powder
4) Cook until fragrant and the oil starts to separate
5) Pour in the yoghurt and stir
6) When all are mixed and cook well, toss in the coriander leaves
7) Season with salt and pepper, to taste

Serve with Lebanese bread (or any wrap/bread of choice) with a healthy salad as side :)

Happy trying!
