DIY : Homemade Foot Rub to Sooth Your Tired Feet!

There are some days when I feel like all I need is a good ol’ pampering on my precious feet.

Especially after a long rewarding day of shopping. Thehehe..

And because most of my money is already gone into buying a new shirt of a new pair of wedges (you know, so that I can hurt my feet again wearing them. Hubby never understands why women do this), and I just cannot afford to pay for a pedicure/massage anymore, I turn to this:

A homemade peppermint foot rub.

Thanks to One Good Thing by Jillee, I was inspired to DIY my own foot rub, because the ingredients are so easy and once you have them, you can have many sessions of foot pampering without having to spend so much on overpriced pedicure spa out there (really, pedicures are ridiculously expensive kan?)

Jillee also shared a “recipe” for a homemade foot soak and detox, if you feel like completing a full regime, but I only did the foot rub as I only have the ingredients for a rub at that moment.

So here goes:

WHAT YOU NEED

Any massage oil will do actually, as long as it is mild like coconut oil, olive oil, jojoba oil. Mine was sweet almond oil. You can find these massage and peppermint essential oil abundantly at spa shops/kiosks or even The Body Shop.

Don’t ask me where to find vinegar. LOL. Obviously it’s the vinegar you use in your cooking, judging from the brand there. Haha.

WHAT YOU HAVE TO DO

Mix together 2 tablespoons of massage oil, 1 teaspoon of vinegar and 1 teaspoon of peppermint oil in a bowl and stir well.

Take a small amount into palm and massage your feet.

Then, let it rest for around 15 minutes and put on fluffy fresh socks. Relax and sip some tea, enjoy your rejuvenated, brand new feeling feet!

Peppermints are famous for its soothing and antibacterial properties, and it is mostly used in feet treatment products.

Get creative by creating a homemade peppermint foot scrub or a peppermint foot soak. Since you already invested in the essential oils, might as well use it as much as you can right?

I am sure doing this on a regular basis now, and the fun part is I can get hubby to participate because he also loved the foot rub too (speaking of spending some quality time….). Heheh.

Enjoy!
