I am a student again!

I have been busy these past few weeks, and most of my time was actually occupied on settling my enrollment into a new school.

Yes, school as in academia. Crazy?

I think so too.

With my current family and financial commitments sometimes I also thought “What in the world am I doing??”

If you have been reading this blog for quite some time, you may already know that I am very passionate with language and writing. I was always contemplating on taking it seriously, you know, going beyond this blog and making it something I do for a living (with hopes that I will someday do what I really love).

So it’s official, I am now a student of London School of Journalism, UK.

But wait, no, I am not there physically. I am actually pursuing an online Postgraduate Diploma in Journalism, for a duration of 2 years.

Oh well, thoughts of going to London and studying did come into my mind. But then after considering the huge amount of financing that it requires I had to resort to doing online. How I wish I could but nowadays there are a lot of things that matters here at home, and following my heart is not as easy as saying it.

I also considered doing a second degree in Communications in OUM; however I did not think that I could afford committing to another 4 and half years of study. There was a Communications Executive Diploma course that was offered by UMCCED too, but to my disappointment they are not even sure whether the course will be opened this year (maybe there are not much demand). Since I have made up my mind that I am going to study this year, I also could not afford to wait for them.

And here I am, having some cold feet over going back to school. It’s totally a new field for me, but I can’t wait to get started. Tomorrow is my first online lecture, and I am looking forward to it.

Wish me luck!

P/S: This does not mean I stop blogging! This blog goes on "business" as usual. Haha. Maybe some hiatus will happen once in a while, but I am not planning to make it a habit!

Are you also going back to school? What course or program are you doing? Is it out of passion or enhancing your career? Share with me!
