Raising powerful daughters while conserving faith. Doable? Yes.
People say raising a girl, is more challenging than raising a boy.
To a certain extent, I have to agree with that, especially given the trickiness of raising a girl this modern time. There is a fine line between being conservative and being open these days, and it takes some effort to define it properly when raising a daughter.
There is always a way to balance our culture and modernity, and in raising a daughter, I personally think that parents ought to learn how to extract good points from modern parenting, and in the same time carefully preserve faith and culture.
Tricky huh?
Hubby found this article somewhere in the internet, and I think we all can benefit from this advices. Just make an effort to implement it in the right way, and Insha Allah we are all well on the way to raising powerful and independent girls.

"Powerful girls grow up feeling secure in themselves. They learn to take action, making positive choices about their own lives and doing positive things for others. They think critically about the world around them. They express their feelings and acknowledge the feelings and thoughts of others in caring ways. Powerful girls feel good about themselves and grow up with a "can-do" attitude. Of course, strong girls may (like all of us) have times of insecurity and self-doubt, but these feelings aren't paralyzing because the girls have learned to work through their problems. Powerful girls will grow up to lead full, valuable lives...."
